The 24th Annual Santa Barbara Fair & Expo is themed "We're Going Hollywood" Here are some ways you can involve students and youth in the festivities:

School Tour Day   School tour day is scheduled for Thursday, April 25th between 10am and 1pm. Self-guided tours include livestock areas, and last about one hour. The carnival will not be open during this time, but special entertainment will be available in the Exhibitor Building. Classes are welcome to bring sack lunches, and a limited selection of food will be available for purchase. Tour times should be reserved in advance. Studio Fun   Get ready to check out all the crazy and fun stuff going on over at Studio Fun. Kids can visit interactive displays, enjoy themed entertainment, and make artwork inspired by the wild adventures of the hogs that have gone wild at the fair. The Exhibit Building Hall will be open for school tours on Thursday, April 25 between 10am and 1pm, as well as during normal Fair & Expo hours. Exhibitor Entries   We look forward to showcasing your students' work at the 24th Annual Santa Barbara Fair & Expo! There are entry classes available in art, crafts, literature, baking, sewing, horticulture and gardening, group projects, Service Learning projects, school newspapers and yearbooks and more. In fact, we can find the right place for any project! Your kids work very hard every year – take this wonderful opportunity to reward them for their efforts. School-wide Coloring Contest   Kids in pre-school through 6th grade are welcome to enter. Children are invited to use their imagination to draw the Fair & Expo theme – ("We're Going Hollywood"). Crayons, colored pencils, markers or any other medium that is appropriate for "coloring" can be utilized. Every student who enters will receive a ribbon. First place winners in each age group will receive a Fair & Expo Family Admission Pack for 4. School Boards   We will provide 4' X 8' sheets of plywood that are painted white. Classrooms, individual students or several classrooms may work together to paint the boards depicting our 2013 Fair & Expo theme ("We're Going Hollywood"). The boards will be displayed at the entrance to the Fair and throughout the grounds. Boards are due no later than April 15, 2013. Free Lesson Plans   The California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom offers free lesson plans and teacher resource guides organized by grade level. To search the offerings and download materials, log on to the Foundation's web site at www.cfaitc.org.
